Wilson’s World: Previewing the Airstream ‘Silver in the City’ Event in York, South Carolina
YORK, S.C. – The Airstream travel trailer has been an icon of the American highway since the 1930s and continues to be home for thousands of American (and European) travelers. This weekend Airstream lovers will come together in York for their ‘Silver in the City’ event and celebrate owning their Airstream. This event is the only one of its kinds in the southeast.
Wilson and his buddy, George Harrison (the world’s greatest rescue dog), were with York’s Mayor Edward Lee, Jim Cocke former President of the Wally Byam Airstream Club International, and Airstream lovers and owners to find out more about the ‘Silver in the City’ event.
York’s main street (Congress Street) will be home to the second annual event hosted by the Palmetto State Airstream Club 22. At 9am this morning there will be an Airstream Parade on Congress Street with the event officially kicking off at 5pm today at City Market. There will be an open house on Saturday from 1pm until 4pm visitors can drop in and check out the Airstreams parked along Congress Street.
