Wilson’s World: Previewing the 2019 Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Again this year WCCB-TV is proud to be the Media Sponsor for the Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run.  Wilson was at Levine Cancer Institute where he was getting us ready for the run that will be held on Saturday, June 1st beginning at Levine Cancer Institute and ending on the football field at Bank of America Stadium.

Wilson was joined by sponsors, doctors and patients to talk about the event and how important the support of the community is for the event as well as research for Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital.   Audrea Norris a cancer survivor who was also the top fundraiser for the event last year talked with Wilson about her cancer care and her participation in the event.  Twelve year old Avery Wilson a pediatric cancer patient, had a little fun with her doctor, Dr. Javier Oesterheld, while she talked about her cancer treatment at Levine Children’s Hospital.

Riley Fields from the Carolina Panthers didn’t wear his spirit jacket this morning so he was given a hard time by Wilson…Riley blamed it on Sir Purr.  Riley did talk about the 5k and returning to the original course of the 5k and the excitement of the runners as they take on the ramps at Bank of America Stadium and then run out onto the football field for the end of the run.

This is one 5K you can feel REALLY good about…all net proceeds benefit adult and pediatric cancer research programs at Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital.
