Subaru Concord Donates Nearly $20,000 To Cabarrus Meals On Wheels Program
CONCORD, N.C. — As part of its ongoing support of local communities, Subaru of America, Inc. (“SOA”) and Subaru Concord presented a check for $19,371 to Cabarrus Meals on Wheels. Cabarrus Meals on Wheels was selected by Subaru Concord as their hometown charity choice for the 2018 Subaru Share the Love Event.
From November 15, 2018 to January 2, 2019, customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru vehicle selected from a list of charities to receive a donation of $250 from SOA. For the third year in a row, there was no cap on the total donation from Subaru of America to its Share the Love charitable partners. At the culmination of this year, SOA and its retailers will have donated a grand total of $145.7 million since the creation of the Subaru Share the Love Event eleven years ago.
For 2018, SOA selected the four national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals On Wheels America® and National Park Foundation, while Subaru retailers could also elect to add a hometown charity to help support their community. Subaru Concord selected Cabarrus Meals on Wheels as it’s hometown charity and listed it as an organization that customers could select to receive the 2018 Subaru Share the Love Event donation.
The check for $19,371 was presented to Executive Director, Kimberly Strong by Eric Swanson, District Sales Manager, Subaru of America, Steve Porter, General Manager and Whitney Marti, Customer Liaison, both of Subaru Concord. This donation brings Cabarrus Meals on Wheels’ total to $79,402 over the five years that the program has allowed local charities to be direct recipients of funds.
