Wilson’s World: Checking Out Everything Going On Before this Weekend’s Coca Cola 600
CONCORD, N.C. – Wilson was at Charlotte Motor Speedway, his home away from home, this morning where he was giving us a tour of all of the activities and fun that race fans can enjoy leading up to and during the big Coca Cola 600 this Sunday.
Wilson was all over Charlotte Motor Speedway, from the pits to above the track with a ride on the ferris wheel to check out the view. He checked out the putting green that fans can enjoy thanks to Topgolf. Later he headed to the new Pit Stop Pier and spent a few minutes with Scott Cooper of CMS enjoying one of their hearty sandwiches and a Vanilla-Orange Coke. The Pit Stop Pier is located at the end of pit road, right at the end of turn one. A great place to enjoy fan food, special drinks, racing, and even some beach style sand.
But the important part of the morning was when NASCAR driver Jeffrey Earnhardt unveiled the new paint scheme of his #18 Toyota Supra that he will be driving this weekend in the Xfinity series race honoring Mooresville K9 Police Officer Jordan Sheldon who was killed while on duty May 4. Jeffrey’s iK9 Toyota Supra has a brand new paint job with images of Officer Sheldon and his K9 Ramon. There is also a personal connection for Jeffrey as his sponsor iK9 was the K9 service that trained Officer Sheldon’s dog Ramon.
On Saturday and Sunday fans can visit the Toyota Racing Experience area and sign a replica of the hood from Jeffrey’s race car. Jeffrey was the first to sign the hood which will be taken to the Mooresville Police Department next weekend. Tickets are not required to get into the Toyota Racing Experience which is located in front of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
