KAZAN, Russia (AP) — Teenager Katie Ledecky of the U.S. has re-written her world record in the 1,500-meter freestyle with a winning time of 15 minutes, 27.71 seconds at the world swimming championships in Russia. The record time came in a heat with the final set for Tuesday. This is the fourth time Ledecky has broken the record in the 1,500.

TURNBERRY, Scotland (AP) — World No. 1 Inbee Park shot a final round 7-under 65 yesterday to win the Women’s British Open. By winning she became the seventh golfer to capture four different majors. Park started the day three shots back of Jin-Young Ko, who finished second.

LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — Matt Kenseth won the Sprint Cup race at Pocono when Kyle Busch ran out of fuel on the final lap. Had Busch been able to hang on, he would have had his fourth straight win on the circuit. Brad Keselowski finished second with Jeff Gordon third.
