ALBEMARLE, N.C. — An investigation is underway after three people were found dead and another person was injured in a shooting in Albemarle. Deputies say someone called 911 saying a man was banging on their door Thursday morning around 6:30am.
When deputies arrived at the 911 caller’s home, they found a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man is in stable condition at Atrium Health in Concord. His name has not been released.
Deputies went to the home on Canton Road in Albemarle where the man said he lived and found three people dead inside the home. The surviving victim reportedly climbed out of a window in the home and ran for help, according to a captain with the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office.
The case is currently being classified as a death investigation, according to officials. Deputies say they are not looking for a suspect at this time and say there is no threat to the general public. The investigation is ongoing. Check back for updates.
