Holiday Season Kicked Off With Panthers 6th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

CHARLOTTE, NC. — The holiday season kicked off in uptown Tuesday night with the Panthers 6th annual tree lighting ceremony. Thousands came out to Bank of America Stadium to catch a glimpse. 60,000 twinkle lights illuminated a seemingly ginormous tree at Bank of America Stadium and of course, an appearance from Santa at the Corner of Mint and Graham Street.

“It was nice this is our first Santa sighting of the season so we’re pretty excited about that,” says one mother. Delane Atkins drove from Greensboro for the event. She says the event got her in the holiday spirit. “I think this will really help I think this will kind of just top it off,” says Atkins.

There was also face painting and food trucks. Carolers and the Top Cats performed before the tree was lit.
