Woman Rushed To Hospital After Being Pulled From Burning Home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was pulled from her burning home in Ballantyne Wednesday morning.

Neighbors called firefighters after they spotted heavy smoke and flames at the home on Tamarron Drive off Community House Road around 8:30 a.m.

Neighbors tried to rescue the woman, who is said to be in her mid-fifties and lives alone.  Firefighters say they found her just inside the front door.

EMTs performed CPR on the woman and she was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two dogs died in the fire, and a third dog is still missing.

Firefighters said they did not hear a smoke detector alarm when they arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
