UNDATED (AP) β€” Adrian Peterson may be on his way back to the NFL. A federal judge has cleared the way for the running back to be reinstated. U.S. District Judge David Doty (DOH’-tee) issued his order less than three weeks after hearing oral arguments on the case. He overruled NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson’s previous denial of Peterson’s appeal.

CLEVELAND (AP) β€” There could be a very good basketball game tonight in Cleveland as the Cavaliers entertain the Warriors. These are two of the top teams in the NBA right now, as the Warriors continue their torrid season while the Cavaliers remain one of the hottest teams going. Golden State is 44-10 on the season while the Cavs, who have won 17 of their last 19 games, are 36-22.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) β€” Days after being released by the school, former Louisville guard Chris Jones has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and sodomy. His dismissal from the Cardinals came three days after he was reinstated following a one-game suspension on Feb. 17 for violating an unspecified team rule. Jones then scored 17 points in Saturday’s victory over Miami.

DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) β€” A freak accident to Michael Saunders of the Blue Jays means the Toronto left fielder will miss the first half of the season. Saunders stepped on a sprinkler while shagging fly balls and tore cartilage in his left knee. He’ll be out until around the All-Star break.

MILWAUKEE (AP) β€” Milwaukee’s Brewers and pitcher Francisco Rodriguez have worked out a multiyear deal. A person familiar with the agreement tells The Associated Press that the veteran closer has reached a two-year, $13 million deal with the team. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced.
