Charlotte Pride Releases Estimated Attendance Numbers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Pride is celebrating another year of success and growth for their annual event.

Organizers say initial crowd estimates reveal approximately 115,000-120,000 people attended the Charlotte Pride festival over the weekend.

The Bank of America Charlotte Pride Parade had over 3,000 participants and more than 120 marching contingents.

Charlotte Pride first moved its event to Uptown Charlotte in 2011, attracting an estimated 27,000 visitors.  Last year, the event attracted 100,000 people with an estimated $7.75 million in economic impact from out-of-town visitors according to a study commissioned by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.
