Hotel Chain Offers $15,000 Reward In Charlotte Robbery Case

Charlotte, N.C. — A hotel chain is offering a $15,000 reward in a Charlotte robbery case after one of their employees was shot. The shooting happened on July 2nd at the Drury Inn in North Charlotte.

Officers initially responded to an armed robbery at the Roadway Inn on W. Sugar Creek Road.

Approximately 40 minutes later, the same suspect is accused of entering the Drury Inn on W. WT Harris Boulevard. Police say the suspect approached the clerk and shot her once before fleeing the hotel. The clerk was transported by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20’s, approximately 5’10”- 6’ tall with short dreadlocks. The suspect vehicle is described as a black in color 2013-2015 Nissan Versa with the tag on the hitch, not on the bumper.

The safety and security of our guests and employees is our top priority. Our goal is to assist the Charlotte Police Department in apprehending the person responsible for this crime before they hurt anyone else in the community.”

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Armed Robbery Unit are continuing to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Drury Hotels reward has increased from $5,000 to $15,000 in addition to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers reward of $1,000. Anyone with information concerning this case or the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
