CHARLOTTE, NC– In the days after the Supreme Court decided not to hear appeals related to same sex marriage bans being overturned, the number of states allowing gay marriage jumped from 19 to 32.

New questions are being raised about how the recent ruling will play out when it comes to same sex adoptions, surrogacy and divorce in North Carolina.

We talked to a local attorney who focuses on these issues within non-traditional marriages.

Attorney Nicole Sodoma, “I expect a lot of questions and I know that we will have to wait for our legislature to tell us exactly the answers but I think we’re going to be dealing with some grey areas for awhile,” says Sodoma.

We’re told over time the new forms and statutes will have to catch up with the new ruling.
