ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (AP) β€” Two North Carolina high school football teams have been disqualified from the 2014 playoffs after a fight in their most recent game.

Local media outlets report the North Carolina High School Athletic Association reviewed a report from last Friday’s game between Heide Trask and West Bladen. The fight followed a 2-point conversion try.

NCHSAA spokesman Rick Strunk said after a 22-minute delay, seven players were ejected. Four of the ejected players were from Trask and three were from West Bladen.

Strunk said NCHSAA rules state that a team whose players and coaches accumulate three or more individual ejections for fighting, those ejections will cause the team to lose its playoff privileges.

Bladen County Superintendent Robert Taylor said talks would continue to determine if a more favorable outcome could be found.
