A Summertime Synopsis: Hot, Humid, & Stormy
Expect highs near 90º to go along with a seesaw between sunshine and storms.
With Isaías in our rearview mirror, it’s back to basics to close out the first full week of August. Partly-to-mostly sunny skies persist across the western Carolinas, as highs return to their normal spot near 90º. One thing to note, however, is a stationary front that is shagging over Southeast. This system will take its sweet time moving out of the region, which will bump up shower chances as we close out the workweek. While it won’t be a wash, expect scattered showers and storms during the afternoons and evenings through Friday. Some storms could be strong at times, packing gusty winds upwards of 60 mph and locally heavy rainfall. The rainmaking system should clear out by Saturday, however, and storm chances should fall into the isolated range by the weekend.
Tonight: Scattered storms early, then partly cloudy. Low: 72°. Wind: Light.
Thursday: Variable clouds. PM scattered storms. High: 88°. Wind: S 5-15.
Thursday Night: Scattered storms early, then mostly clear. Low: 72°. Wind: Light.
Friday: Scattered storms continue. High: 90°. Wind: SW 5-10.
