Last of the Storms

Waking up to showers and a few pockets of heavy rain for areas south of Charlotte. A stray storm or two possible into the afternoon, but clouds will begin to clear for the higher elevations with mostly sunny skies by lunchtime. The piedmont will keep partly cloudy skies into the evening with gradual clearing overnight. High pressure takes hold Wednesday. Temps will skyrocket into the low 90s under sunny skies. Isolated storms return Thursday, but temps remain well above average. Hurricane Laura will veer east after making landfall overnight Wednesday into Thursday along the TX/LA border as a major hurricane. Remnants of this storm will move into the WCCB viewing area late Friday into Saturday with rain and a few gusty storms possible. Drying out late Saturday with above average temps through Sunday.
