Rain Chances Increase Late Week
Scattered showers and patchy fog will dominate the forecast today. Highs will reach the mid 80s – with dew points in the low 70s. A disorganized system off the coast has been in control of this swampy pattern and as it moves inland the Carolinas it will increase the threat for heavy rain and steady showers late week. A weak boundary will trigger some instability leading to more storms near and north of the I-40 corridor. The threat for localized flooding will heighten Saturday through early next week until a stronger cold front gives us some slightly cooler, less muggy days with highs in the upper 70s early next week and a bit of sunshine to dry out.
