LANDIS, N.C. — Police say one person was injured and another arrested after a shooting in Landis Wednesday evening.
According to a news release, a Landis Police Officer was approached by a man around 5 p.m. on South Main Street who stated he had been shot. Medical officials were called to the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital.
Shortly after, officers say they identified the suspect in the case as 36-year-old John Adam Baltimore and he was taken into custody.
According to Landis police, Baltimore was charged with one count of Assault With A Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. He is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
Police say this was an isolated incident and that it was apparent that Baltimore and victim knew each other.
