CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating the city’s third homicide within 12 hours after one person was fatally shot in northwest Charlotte Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 4 a.m. to Clydesdale Terrace nearby Tuckaseegee Road.
Police say they arrived to find a person with a gunshot wound near the roadway. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Emanuel Taylor, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
