Big Changes This Weekend

Waking up to a soupy airmass as a cold front moves through the area. Showers and a few pockets of heavy rain will impact areas south and east of Charlotte with lingering showers into the afternoon. Temps will be warmest this morning, and gradually fall through the afternoon. Clouds will clear overnight. A freeze watch in effect for the mountains as temps bottom out in the low to mid 30s for the higher elevations. The rest of the region will wake up to temps in the 40s. Sunny, dry and cool weather for the weekend. Highs will not get out of the mid 60s. But, warmer temps return next week. Highs will trend into the mid to upper 70s with shower chances returning late week.
