Charlotte Family Builds Halloween-Themed Candy Dispensary

A family in Southpark has figured out a way to safely hand out candy this Halloween, while remaining physically distant.

The Meade family built a contact-less Frankenstein-themed candy dispenser.

You drive up, text a phone number with the number of people in your car, and the dispenser then delivers the proper amount of candy.

Cavan Meade says “For us Halloween is our holiday. It was really exciting that we still got to do something, but be covid safe. And provide fun for the neighborhood. While doing something fun ourselves.”

Once the candy is handed out, the machine self-sanitizes before it makes it’s next delivery.

The Meade family in SouthPark has invented a contactless, drive-by, Frankenstein-themed candy dispensary, and they would love folks to swing by and experience it.

The candy dispensing machine is open every evening 7:30-9:30 p.m. through Halloween.

The “TransylVending” machine essentially works like this: When you drive up to their house – which, by the way, is elaborately decorated for the season – you’ll see a phone number to text to let the machine know how many people are in your party.

The dispensary will then deliver the requisite number of candy bars, which you can collect from a bowl.

Once the transaction is finished, the machine self-sanitizes for the next customer!

It’s pretty cool, and what’s even cooler is that the dad, Chris, and their teenage sons engineered the whole thing themselves and the entire family added the artistic effects.
