Warming Up Through the End of the Week

Waking up to a chilly start with patchy frost across the higher elevations. This will likely be the last morning with temps in the 30s for the Charlotte Metro area as morning lows will become milder over the next few days. Highs today will reach the low 60s for mountains to the upper 60s across the foothills and Piedmont. A few clouds added to the mix through the week as temps warm to the low 70s, but rain chances will remain at bay until late in the weekend. A few scattered showers will be possible into early next week, but widespread rain chances will be more likely mid to late next week. Also of note, Tropical Storm Eta will swing back into the Caribbean. The latest projections has this storm restrengthening before cutting through Cuba over the weekend and heading towards South Florida by early next week. There won’t be direct impacts to the Carolinas with this storm, but depending on the eventual track we may be dealing with more rain by late next week.
