Massive flooding has been reported throughout WCCB’s viewing after several inches of rain was dumped on the Carolinas late Wednesday evening into Thursday afternoon.

Three people have been pronounced dead and two others are still missing from a campground in Alexander County.

Several people had to be rescued from homes in Fort Mill.

A local charter school was evacuated after flood waters submerged vehicles in the parking lot. No injuries were reported at the school.

Kannapolis City Staff say firefighters have rescued around 20 people and pets from flooded homes in the city today, and they are working with the Red Cross to place these individuals into shelters while water and transportation crews work to reopen flooded streets.

Concord Police say Cox Mill Road and Poplar Tent Road are now completely underwater, meaning there is no access to the Allen Mill, Edenton, and Granary Oaks Communities.

Flowes Store Fire Department officials say the bridge on Parks Lafferty Road near Highway 601 in Cabbarus County is closed.
