Drying Out, But Flood Threat Remains
Drying out across the region today with highs reaching the low 70s this afternoon. Clouds will gradually clear with sunny skies in the forecast for most of today. Flood Warnings remain in effect as floodwaters recede and flow into area river basins. Most area rivers will crest by this weekend. Lake Rhodhiss, Lookout Shoals, and Mountain Island Dam are in flood stage and will remain elevated as water from the Catawba River basin moves downstream today. Cool and dry tonight with lows falling to the mid-40s. Temps will reach the mid-60s tomorrow. A cold front will bring back the chance for a few showers. Much cooler next week with below-average highs in the forecast.
