Wilson Gets Schooled by the Kids at Olympic High School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at Olympic High School with students, teachers and mentors to find out more about the programs at the school that offer students a hands on approach for choosing their future careers.
Some of the kids at Olympic High School go high tech with Wilson as they talk about their MAP (Mentoring for Access and Persistence) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs as well as get in a little robotics action while they prepare for the First Robotics Competition.
He also went behind the scenes in the school’s commercial kitchen and found about more about the Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Academy where kids can get a springboard into the fields.
Olympic works with outside business partners such as Ernst & Young with the MAP program and Bosch Rexroth who participate in the Technology, Entrepreneurship and Advanced Manufacturing School at Olympic.
Olympic’s program Cradle to Career connects high school mentors to kids in the early grades to get them started into the high tech and engineering fields. Wilson talked with some of the Olympic students who are working with these younger kids.
