
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In a battle of the Carolinas, USC and UNC are planning more Charlotte games in the coming years.
According to reports, The University of South Carolina and University of North Carolina have agreed to play twice more at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium.
The games will take play on Labor Day weekend in both 2019 and 2023.
“We are extremely excited to announce that these great games will be played in Charlotte,” Will Webb, Executive Director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation, announced. “This is a tremendous rivalry that will be played in one of the best stadiums in the United States.”
Both teams are strong, with UNC leading the all-time series 34-18-4, and USC winning five of the last six meetings between the two schools in a series that began in 1903.
The Gamecocks and Tar Heels will face off in the Belk College Classic in Charlotte on Thursday at 6pm, and will be televised nationally on ESPN.
