Unseasonably Cool Through the Weekend; Sunday Rain and Snow
Winds have calmed significantly, but still seeing a few stronger gusts in the mountains. Bitter cold temps to start the morning with icy spots likely for the higher elevations. It will be dry and sunny today, but cool as temps struggle to reach the upper 40s. Freezing tonight as temps fall into the 20s. Below average temps once again for Saturday, but clouds fill in later in the day. Sunday will bring a mix of rain and snow to the region. Warmer air will nudge in during the start of this next event, meaning we will likely see a transition from rain or freezing rain to snow for the mountains. The foothills could pick up a dusting to an inch or two of snow, but as of now, it’s not looking likely that snow will make it much further south than the I-40 corridor. Temps will remain cool into the early part of the next week.
