CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters responded to an apartment fire Friday night in east Charlotte where one person was taken to an area hospital for severe burns.
Charlotte Fire Department officials say firefighters arrived at the two-story apartment building showing smoke around 10 p.m. on Four Season Lane.
Fire officials say the fire was a result of an unattended candle or discarded smoking material left in a couch and caused around $26,500 in damage.
Officials have not provided an update on the occupant’s condition who suffered serious burns.
