Fans Back for Uptown Baseball for 1st Time in More Than a Year
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Spring has sprung, and baseball is back in Uptown Charlotte!
Saturday’s college baseball game between the Charlotte 49’ers and Rhode Island was held at Truist Field. It’s the first time teams have played there in more than a year.
Fans were excited to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon among the sights and sounds of baseball in Uptown.
“What a great feeling to wake up this morning and know that we’ve got a baseball game, the gates are open, people are out there,” said Charlotte Knights CEO Dan Rajkowski.
While the Knights have hosted other socially-distanced events over the past year, this is also the first time fans are back for baseball.
And while it’s only at 30 percent capacity, fans say there’s still plenty to be happy about.
