WASHINGTON (AP) β€” It won’t be a Hollywood movie director shouting “lights, camera, action,” but rather President Barack Obama opening the 2nd White House Student Film Festival.

Students in grades K-12 submitted some 1,500 short videos on the theme of service and giving back.

No “winners” will be announced and no gold statues will be handed out Friday.

Instead, 15 videos chosen as “official selections” in conjunction with the American Film Institute will be screened in a White House East Room turned movie theater for the afternoon.

The White House says the festival will highlight the promise of mentorship in the arts.

The president will also discuss his “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative for young men of color.
