CONCORD, NC — There is extra help for anyone rushing to make the Affordable Care deadline. Obamacare topped six million sign-ups today. There’s now a grace period for applicants who start their paperwork, but don’t finish by Monday’s deadline. The Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers is helping people take advantage of that extension. They’re offering additional sign-up times and counselors.
“If something were to happen in the summer, and the person didn’t sign up for the insurance, then they will not have any help, and you will be penalized,” says Chief Financial Officer Renee Macon.
Anyone without insurance will pay a penalty on their 2015 tax return. To find more information about the healthcare sign-up sessions, check out our Web Links tab, or click here.
