Pachyderm Music Lab In Charlotte Streams Students Album Release Party On April 2nd

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tune in at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2nd to watch music videos created by the students of Pachyderm Music Lab (PML) in Charlotte on the lab’s five year anniversary.

The “Elephant In The Room” album release party will be live streamed on Facebook, presenting all the music videos with commentary and animated shorts, and officials say proceeds from the album created and merchandise sales will go to support scholarships for PML families.

Officials with the LGBTQ+ owned and operated Pachyderm Music Lab in Charlotte say their goal is teach students of all ages to play instruments with confidence by creating a safe space for all students to learn.

Krystle Baller, owner of PML, says she has helped produce music videos for 25 people to be presented during this livestream event.

Baller says “From 5 year olds to grown ups, our students have been in the studio writing and recording some really powerful, fun, and complex tunes. We began this project at the beginning of 2021 and it seemed fitting we work toward the goal of releasing it on our 5 year anniversary.”

Baller says “I am doing this for the humans I’ve quickly grown to love, so they have something huge to celebrate after an epically terrible year,” and says they are ready to take on new students who may be inspired by this project. “But the short answer is ‘Yes, I am ready.’ Even though I’m wondering how I could get any busier. We will absolutely find a way to bring the joy of music to more people. It’s like we are cracking open the potential of people in a way where they can see how others see them. A veil of self doubt starts to lift and it is pure magic.”
