CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 7-year-old boy dead Saturday night.
Police responded to a reported shooting in the 6000 block of Fieldvale Place around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Police say they were flagged down by family members of 7-year-old Kevin Rodas who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Medic transported Rodas to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He later died at the hospital.
Two adults and another child were also shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries. All three were treated on scene by medic.
This is an ongoing, active investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective.
