RALEIGH, NC — All fraternities at NC State have agreed not to have parties with alcohol for the rest of the semester.  It comes after the suspension of the university’s Pi Kappa Phi chapter over a controversial pledge book.

The book found at a restaurant near campus is filled with handwritten racist and rape jokes.  The woman who turned it in, Katie Perry, says she couldn’t believe what she read.

“It’s just a group of 60-some young men at State making jokes about raping people, raping children, raping dead women, making very over, racist comments,” said Perry.

We reached out to Pi Kappa Phi’s national headquarters in South Charlotte.  In a statement, the CEO tells WCCB Charlotte: “The quotes in the book are reprehensible and unacceptable.” He goes on to say, “The fraternity has clear policies that prohibit discrimination, as well as abusive and sexist conduct.”
