Caldwell County Man Charged In Catawba County For Trafficking Methamphetamine

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A Caldwell County man is facing multiple drug charges after a Catawba County narcotics investigation that spanned several area hotels Friday.

Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office conducted a narcotics interdiction at several area hotels. During their investigation, deputies received information that led to executing a search warrant on a hotel room.

Deputies said that during the search they seized 1.71 pounds of methamphetamine.

The suspect and occupant of the room, Clyde Junius Rogers, has been charged with level III trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and was served with an outstanding warrant for assault on a female, according to a news release. Rogers, a Hudson resident, received a $175,000 secured bond and had a court date on Tuesday.

“We are focusing our efforts on areas of our county where drug dealers operate. We will continue, in collaboration with our law enforcement partners, to confront criminals who bring drugs into our county,” Sheriff Donald Brown said.
