Riders Stuck On Carowinds Ride Rescued By Carowinds Personnel

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There is still no word on what tripped a safety mechanism causing a kiddie roller coaster at Carowinds to shut down Saturday.

It left about 20 people stuck in mid-air and Carowinds personnel had to rescue them. Β A spokesperson for Carowinds says the ride has a safety feature that will shut it down in response to what is believed to have been a computer glitch.

The Flying Ace Aerial Chase stopped more than 20-feet above the ground with adults and smaller children on board. Β Everyone made it off the ride safely.
