Sunshine and the 60s return this weekend

Thisย calm pattern sticks with us through the weekend. Saturday brings plenty of dry weather and mild temperatures, topping out in the mid-50s under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Sundayย is our pick day of the entire week as thingsย warmย up even more, with highs climbing back into the 60s, making it a great day to get outside or wrap up last-minute holiday errands.

Widespread rain moving in Thursday

Some of theย rainย willย come down pretty hard at times, especially in a few heavier pockets. Rainfall totals will vary, but most spots should land somewhere between about a half inch and up to an inch and a half.

Increasing clouds with warmer temperatures Wednesday

Wednesdayย brings in a few more clouds with sunshine along withย temperatures climbing into the upper 50s by the afternoon.ย Throughoutย the day we'll deal with gusts up to 15-20mph, but it will remain dry.ย  Tomorrow evening brings mostly cloudy skies with temperatures a lot warmer back in the lower 40s.

Chilly evening with a gradual warm-up

Tuesday still starts on the cold side, but things improve as the day goes on. Sunshine sticks around all day, and afternoon temperatures rebound into the upper 40s to low 50s. It will beย a noticeable step in the right direction and the start of a gradual warming trend as high pressure movesย in from theย east.

A warm-up Saturday, then a temperature tumble Sunday

Early Sunday, a sharp cold front moves in from the northwest. It wonโ€™t bring much rain, if any at all, but it will deliver a serious blast of Arctic air. Charlotte may start Sunday near 50ยฐ, but temperatures quickly tumble through the day, setting us up for an icy start to the new week. Overnight lows drop into the teens and even single digits, and the High Country is staring down the possibility of subzero wind chills some of the coldest conditions weโ€™ve felt since January.

A Quick Warm-Up Before a Arctic Blast Arrives

โ€‹Iโ€‹n theย Charlotteโ€‹ Metro, we finally get a taste of something milderโ€‹ heading into Friday. Temperatures will climb into the 50s tomorrow, and Saturday โ€‹โ€‹brings a chance of theย 60s. If you love mild weather, Saturday is your day to soak it inโ€‹ and finish up any holiday decorating outside.

Chilly evening with winds picking up Wednesday

Tomorrow night, a few isolated snow showersย will impact the high countryย thanks to a weak front moving through. It wonโ€™t be a big snow event with onlyย light flurriesย expected along with minimalย accumulation. Other than that, weโ€™re mostly in for dry weather, which is great news for plans later this week.
