Chilly air has arrived for Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving friends! Today will deliver a classic late-November feel, with sunshine from start to finish with cooler air in place. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach the low 50s, topping out near 52ยฐ. Itโ€™s the kind of day where the sun helps, but youโ€™ll still want a jacket if you're heading out for a walk after dinner.

Rain continues overnight, but drying out Wednesday

Wednesday looks like a brighter andย windier day, with highs rebounding into the mid-70sย which will beย a nice little warm-up before we dive into the cooler air for the holiday. By Thanksgiving, temperatures will take a noticeable dip, dropping into the lower 50s.

Quiet evening with changes moving in Tuesday

Tuesdayย bringsย temperatures climbing well above average and breezy conditions developing through the day. The morning begins dry with a mix of clouds and some sun,ย withย warmth building quickly. Many areas will climb into the 70s by the afternoon.

Hazy conditions tonight, with record warmth Saturday

There is a bit of hopeful news in the mix. A few scattered showers will try to develop and move across the area later tonight. They may provide brief relief; these showers likely wonโ€™t be widespread or strong enough to fully wash the smoke out of the atmosphere. Expect haze, low visibility, and less-than-ideal breathing conditions to hang with us a bit longer.

Cloudy evening with a few stray showers north

Friday brings us cloudy skies through the day with a few early morning showers north of the metro.ย Temperatures will climb right back into the low to mid-70s, soย it willย still feel spring-like. Weย could see a few quick showersย and storms popย upย late evening into the start of the weekend, but you won't need to cancel any evening plans.

Increasing clouds going into Thursday

Thursday continues the trendย with a mild andย comfortable afternoon, with highs once again topping out in the mid-70s. Tomorrow morning starts off cool, with lows near 50 degrees, so you may want a light jacket early on. Throughย the day expect a mix of sun and clouds. It wonโ€™t be gloomy, but youโ€™ll notice the sky filling in more than it has the last couple of days, hinting that we are about to see a shift.

Near record warmth Wednesday

Tomorrow will be the start of our warming trend with highs reaching the mid 70s with a sun and cloud mix.ย  The record high for tomorrow for the Charlotte Metro is 79ยฐ which I do think we will be a few degrees shy of, but all in all it will a very warm fall day.

Warming temperatures continue

y Wednesday, the weather pattern shifts, and we move into a broad warm slot. Temperatures respond in a big way, climbing to nearly 15 degrees above normal. Thisย will also bring some moisture into the atmosphereย rising humidityย levelsย out of the critical fire-weather range.
