(AP) — American Lauren Davis beat top-seeded Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-1 at the Family Circle Cup on Wednesday a short time after No. 2 seed Ekaterina Makarova withdrew with a stomach illness. The 21-year-old Davis had lost the only career meeting with Bouchard, but was in control much of the way against the world's seventh-ranked player.
