Rivers rose and flooding worsened across the U.S. South and Midwest, threatening communities already waterlogged and badly damaged by days of heavy rain and storms that killed at least 18 people.
The Catawba-Wateree River Basin is dealing with the early stages of drought, so people across the Charlotte region are being asked to voluntarily conserve water.
A line of strong-to-severe storms will bring damaging straight-line winds, hail, and possibly a few spin-up tornadoes to the WCCB Charlotte viewing area Monday afternoon and evening.
“I think the reality is, many folks don’t understand how much work is ahead of us," says William Carpenter, executive director of the Valley Hope Foundation.
