Three Men Charged For 16 Break-Ins Throughout Charlotte Area

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested three men for allegedly breaking into 16 different businesses in Charlotte, Pineville and Concord.

Investigators say Kenneth Black, Travis Gill and Luquese Black broke into more than a dozen phone and gaming businesses between August and September.

CMPD says they responded to 14 breaking and entering calls that appeared to be conducted by the same group of individuals.

During this time, the Crime Analysis Unit noticed a trend and contracted the Property Crime Surveillance Unit to being an investigation.  Based on information from their investigation, police identified the three men as potential suspects in the case.

On September 8th, police believed the men were going to break into a Radio Shack in Concord.  CMPD says Concord Police were alerted and a joint effort between the police departments led to all three men being arrested while they were actively breaking into a Radio Shack in Concord.

Kenneth Black and Gill were immediately taken into custody and are currently in the custody of Concord Police.  Luquese Black is currently being treated at a local hospital for injuries he sustained while fleeing from officers and will be charged upon his release from the hospital.

Each suspect is facing dozens of charges in reference to the break-ins.  Anyone with information on any of these cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
