CHARLOTTE, NC – It is never too early to enjoy the fragrance of BBQ in a smoker…at least it is never too early for the guys with Boy Scout Troop 11. Wilson joined the troop today at Providence Road United Methodist Church as they were cooking up the pork for their annual BBQ sale that runs Friday and Saturday. And it seems that he was being stalked by an extremely creepy pig.
The troop’s annual BBQ sale is their largest fundraising event. The funds raised help to support the troops community service programs such as their work with Room at the Inn and Loaves and Fishes and many others. It also helps to provide summer scout camp scholarships, camping supplies and equipment, trips and financial aid for children who would like to participate in scouting but do not have the funds.
The pork BBQ will be available for pickup on Friday 3/27 from 11am until 8pm and on Saturday 3/28 from 8am until 12pm at the lower parking lot of Providence Road United Methodist Church at 2810 Providence Road in Charlotte. For more information check out their website at www.troop11bbq.com.
Today is “Make Your Own Holiday Day” (yep, that is a day) so the members of Boy Scout Troop 11 claimed today, March 26th, 2015 as the official holiday known at “Wilson’s World Day” for everything he has done to support Troop 11 over the years. But, for anyone who knows Wilson…every day is Wilson’s World Day!
