BOSTON (AP) β€” The Red Sox beat the Orioles 7-1 in a game cut short by rain in Boston. Justin Masterson got the win as the Sox scored five unearned runs in the game that was shut down after 6 1/2 innings. The loser was Wei-Yin Chen who walked four and made an error.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) β€” Philadelphia has signed quarterback Tim Tebow (TEE’-boh) to a one-year contract, giving the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner his first shot in the NFL since the Patriots cut him before the 2013 season. Tebow hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012 with the New York Jets. The Eagles already have four other quarterbacks on their roster: Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne.

NEW YORK (AP) β€” Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud (DAR’-noh) will be out more than three weeks and left-handed reliever Jerry Blevins will miss more than six weeks after both were injured in Sunday’s win over Miami. D’Arnaud will be in a splint for three weeks after his right hand was broken when he was hit by a pitch. Blevins will be in a splint for six weeks after a line drive fractured his throwing arm.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) β€” Todd McLellan is out as San Jose Sharks coach after the winningest coach in franchise history and the team agreed to part ways. In seven seasons, McLellan put together a 311-163-66 record, but the Sharks finished 12th out of 14 teams in the Western Conference this season.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) β€”The Washington Capitals won’t have center Eric Fehr (FAYR) for at least the next two games in their playoff series with the Islanders. He suffered what the club is calling an upper body injury in Sunday’s overtime loss. The Caps trail the best-of-seven series 2-1.
