NEW ORLEANS (AP) β The Golden State Warriors roared from 20 points down in the fourth quarter to shock New Orleans 123-119 in overtime to take a 3-0 lead in that first round NBA playoff series. Steph Curry hit a desperation 3-pointer to force overtime and finished with 40 points and nine assists as the Warriors mounted the third-largest fourth quarter comeback in NBA playoff history.
BOSTON (AP) β The Cleveland Cavaliers are one victory away from sweeping the Boston Celtics out of the NBA playoffs. LeBron James scored 31 and the Cavaliers beat the Celtics 103-95 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead as they go for the sweep Sunday in Boston.
MILWAUKEE (AP)β The Chicago Bulls own a commanding 3-0 lead over Milwaukee after outlasting the Bucks 113-106 in double overtime last night. Derrick Rose scored 34 points and Jimmy Butler added 24 for Chicago, which goes for the sweep on Saturday in Milwaukee.
NEW YORK (AP) β Jason deGrom will try and pitch the New York Mets to a team-record 12th straight victory when they play the Yankees at Yankee Stadium tonight. Yesterday the Mets finished a 10-0 homestand by beating Atlanta 6-3 as 41-year old Bartolo Colon (bar-TOH’-loh koh-LOHN’) went to 4-0 for the first time in his career.
WASHINGTON (AP)β The Washington Capitals posted their third straight victory over the New York Islanders, 4-1, to take a 3-2 series lead in that NHL playoff series. Evgeni Kuznetsof (kooz-NEHT’-zawf) scored a pair of goals for the Caps, who can advance with a Game 6 victory on Long Island Saturday.
