CMS Superintendent Lays Out Plans For Budget

CHARLOTTE, NC– CMS is asking Mecklenburg County to hand over 805 million dollars. Superintendent Ann Clark laid out her plan to use that money today.

480 million would build 10 new schools.. Including 5 elementary and two high schools.
136 million would replace existing schools.
172 million would pay for renovations and additions.

“Allow us to create new seats, new choice seats, renovate, replace and build new schools, and particularly allow us to add 3 high schools one of them we’re already sitting in that’s built and ready for students.” said Clark

The district is also seeking 17-million dollars for an administrative facility.
