CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Funeral services have been arranged for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department candidate who collapsed during physical fitness training.

On Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., newly hired police candidates were conducting state mandated physical fitness training when 29-year-old Jeremy Moseley collapsed. CMPD Training Staff and personnel from the Charlotte Fire Department began to aid Moseley and Medic was requested. According to reports, Moseley was then transported to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
From Queens, New York, Moseley attended the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the Capital University School of Law before pursuing his call to serve in law enforcement. He moved to the Charlotte area in 2015 and was hired by the CMPD on June 27, 2016.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney called Jeremy “A man deeply committed and eager to serve as a guardian of our community.”
Funeral services for Jeremy Moseley have been scheduled for Monday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway.
