Nurse Charged With Prescription Fraud In Mooresville

MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville Police have arrested and charged a Huntersville nurse with writing and obtaining fraudulent prescriptions.

Police say 40-year-old Bethany Boroughs was working as a nurse practitioner at the Piedmont Healthcare-Urgent Care on Days Inn Drive when she began writing and obtaining fraudulent prescriptions at local Mooresville pharmacies.

Boroughs is charged with one count of obtaining controlled substances by fraud or forgery, one count of attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, and two counts of identity theft.

Boroughs is currently being held under a $5,000 secured bond.
