Harris Teeter To Build New Store In Riverbend Village

CHARLOTTE, NC– Tonight the first anchor store has been named for a large mixed-use development near Mountain Island Lake in Northwest Charlotte.

Harris Teeter will open a roughly 76-thousand square foot store in Riverbend Village next year.

Crews are grading land for the more than 115-acre development on the corner of Mount Holly Huntersville Road and Brookshire boulevard.

Residents worry about all the added traffic.

“The area’s already over-congested, so that means it’s going to be worse. We’re really gonna have problems getting in and out of here,” said resident Thomas Cowans.

The project also includes 264 apartments, up to 100 townhomes, a possible hotel, and movie theater.

Corning’s new headquarters is also part Riverbend Village.
