Fright Night Costume Crawl

Presented by the Uptown Shelby Association

Costume Party 2016 Ben

Nothing is more fun that a night that you can dress up scary, silly or as a super hero, meet up with your friends and enjoy a night in Uptown Shelby.  Fright Night is back this year with fun things to do on October 28th.  Businesses with have extended hours with special activities and promotions for the evening. Creepy Crawl Bingo cards will be available at participating businesses and folks are encouraged to “crawl” around Uptown Shelby to complete the Bingo card tasks to get “BINGO” to enter your card into a drawing for Uptown Shelby prizes. “Some of the bingo squares are created to be fun like taking a selfie with a super hero at The Imperial Emporium Comic Book Store or entering the Costume Contest at Newgrass Brewing Company. Some of the bingo squares encourage dining and shopping in Uptown. Overall, Creepy Crawl Bingo encourages people to move around and see businesses in Uptown Shelby and have a great night!” says Tricia Woodland, Uptown Shelby Marketing and Events Manager.

This will be the third year Uptown Shelby Association has hosted Fright Night. Each year the event continues to grow in attendance. With the addition of a Costume Contest at Newgrass Brewery last year, Fright Night gets even better each year. “This year I’m so excited about how creative some of the businesses are getting. You can tell they have been putting thought into this event for a while.” “Many people come out on Fright Night to see the people in costume. This year I hope even more people will dress up. That’s what makes this night so fun. It’s like getting to be a kid again.”  says Woodland.

Fright Night is Friday, October 28th starting at 7pm. Most retail businesses will stay open to 9 pm and the restaurants and brewery will be open late. Uptown Shelby, NC is located just 45 miles west of Charlotte. Go to the Uptown Shelby Association’s Facebook page for more info.
