Pedestrian Hit Friday Evening Dies Over The Weekend From Injuries

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police say 53-year-old Brenda Robinson died Sunday afternoon at CMC from injuries received after being hit by a vehicle Friday evening.

According to officials, Robinson was hit around 8:18pm Friday at The Plaza near Weldon Avenue. Medic took Robinson to CMC with life threatening injuries, but she eventually passed away Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say the driver of the Chrysler 300, Patricia Harris, 67, did not see Robinson when she was crossing the street. According to reports, Robinson, who was also using a walker at the time, was not in the crosswalk, was wearing dark clothing, and the roadway was dark.

Speed and alcohol are said not to be factors in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
