CHARLOTTE, N.C. — TSA officers prevented a man from bringing a loaded handgun on board a plane at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
Officials say the man was stopped by TSA officers at a checkpoint when they discovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun.

TSA officers detected the gun and ammunition as the man was passing through the airport checkpoint. A TSA officer saw the gun on the X-ray machine as they checked his carry-on bag.
The passenger was questioned and then charged with carrying a firearm on airport property.
TSA has details on how to properly travel with a firearm on their website.
