Wilson’s World: Talking Fire Prevention Week with Charlotte Fire Department Station 20

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was talking Fire Prevention Week while he was visiting Charlotte Fire Department’s Station 20 on Nations Ford Road.

While at Station 20 he was joined by Capt. Dennis Gist, Capt. Jonah Smith and Capt. Will Samburg to talk about tips on fire prevention and to have a little fun.  Some of these important tips including making sure your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly and have new batteries, you always have the proper fire extinguisher in your home and be prepared with a plan on how to exit your home safely and meeting place outside.

Wilson’s segment was interrupted with the alarm going off in the station and the firefighters leaving the station within 20 seconds to get out the door to the fire…not once but twice during the morning.  Check out their first call out on Wilson’s Twitter page HERE.

Sony Pictures’ movie “Only the Brave” the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots will be in theaters next week.   Wilson was able to hook up the guys with Charlotte Fire Department with free tickets and an entire theater to go see the movie.
